In this class, I hope to deepen my understanding of how to effectively integrate technology into educational settings to enhance learning outcomes. As technology continues to evolve, it is essential to remain adaptable and innovative in teaching methods, whether through interactive platforms, adaptive learning software, or data-driven instructional strategies. I am particularly excited to explore tools that promote collaboration and inclusivity, making learning accessible to all students. By the end of this course, I aim to apply these insights in real-world scenarios, such as designing engaging lesson plans, leading professional development for educators, or even creating educational content that incorporates the latest technological advancements.

My prior experiences with technology in educational settings have been diverse and impactful. In high school, I used platforms like Google Classroom to manage assignments and collaborate with peers on group projects. As a Resident Assistant in college, I leveraged social media, digital bulletin boards, and apps like Canva to communicate effectively with students and promote campus events. Additionally, I’ve utilized educational tools such as Kahoot and Quizlet to make learning interactive and engaging during study sessions. These experiences have shown me how technology can streamline processes and foster a more connected learning environment.

My personal learning networks reflect my curiosity and commitment to growth. I am passionate about topics like child development, exercise physiology, and community engagement. To support my learning, I rely on a combination of online resources such as academic journals, YouTube tutorials, and podcasts, alongside offline resources like textbooks and hands-on workshops. Recently, I’ve been exploring new skills, such as graphic design, through platforms like LinkedIn Learning and Adobe’s tutorials. I also enjoy engaging with peers and mentors in my field through professional networks, gaining insights that keep me inspired and informed. These diverse resources allow me to continuously expand my knowledge and skill set in meaningful ways.

After participating in this week’s Graded Discussion Activity, I have gained a deeper understanding of the advantages and limitations of using generative AI tools like ChatGPT for searching information. One of the main benefits I see is how AI can summarize complex topics quickly, providing a clear and concise answer without requiring me to sift through multiple links. This makes it a valuable tool for efficiency, especially when I need direct answers or explanations. However, I also recognize some concerns, such as the potential for AI to generate outdated or biased information, as it does not always provide direct sources for verification. Using generative AI tools for lesson plan design was an insightful experience, as it demonstrated how AI can streamline the planning process and provide creative ideas that I may not have initially considered. One of the biggest benefits I see in using AI for lesson planning is its ability to generate structured outlines and differentiated activities quickly, saving valuable time for educators.
